EXTERIOR & INTERIOR PAINTING

We’ve painted hundreds of residences, apartment buildings, and commercial properties. When it comes to safety and job quality, we take no shortcuts.

Worksite safety. We follow strict EPA and OSHA guidelines to ensure your safety, your neighbors’ safety, and the safety of our workers. We’re EPA and California DPH lead-certified. If we find lead on old painted surfaces, we’ll take proper precautions to remove it and dispose of it safely.

Site cleanliness. At the end of each workday, we leave your site spotless, especially with interior painting, where we make sure all furniture and floors are protected. Our goal is to leave no trace of our having been there—just a beautiful and durable paint job.

Thorough surface prep & quality materials: A successful job is only as good as the surface preparation performed and the quality of primers, caulking, and finish paints used. We’ll take the time to carefully prep all surfaces to ensure maximum adhesion, and follow that with the appropriate quality primers and finish paints.

Carpentry & repairs. If in the course of surface prep, we find dry rot on siding or trim pieces, we have the skills to make all required repairs.

Color consulting. Not sure what colors to use for your home or building? Don’t know where to start? We have lots of experience with color and can help you decide on colors that work and that you’ll be happy with.

RESTORATION

Many older properties don’t just need paint work. They need full surface restoration, as illustrated in the example at right. This entails removing layers of old paint to get down to bare surfaces, replacing dry-rotted wood as needed, and using the best patching materials, caulking, and primers to ensure excellent paint adhesion and quality finish paints for beauty and durability.
Restoration steps include:
  1. Complete removal of loose and poorly adhering paint
  2. Thorough scraping of all wood surfaces to achieve a uniform surface
  3. Thorough cleaning of all surfaces to be painted
  4. Spot-priming of all exposed wood surfaces
  5. Patching of holes and other surface imperfections
  6. Caulking of all open joints
  7. Fully prime-coat all surfaces
  8. Application of premium paint.

WATERPROOFING

Protect your investment! Preventative maintenance of the exterior is vital to the sustainability of your valuable property. Water damage, when not properly addressed, can be very costly to the owner and inconvenient to the occupants. Water finds its way through the tiniest cracks and openings. Inexperienced or fly-by-night painters will simply caulk or paint over areas that show evidence of water leaks. We do it right by finding the source of the leak and fixing it once and for all. This is one of the many procedures that separates “the men from the boys” in the painting industry. We’re experienced with high performance materials like elastomeric coatings, urethane, and elastomeric patching and caulking compounds. We have a lot of experience working on properties where other “painters" failed to waterproof properly, only to have leakage problems resurface.
